    • Taipei, Taiwan. Kappo restaurant where you can enjoy traditional Japanese kaiseki cuisine, sushi, teppan, and other authentic Japanese dishes.
    Q1 Why did you decide to study in Japan?
    A1 My parents ran a Japanese restaurant in Taiwan, and I was planning to study Japanese cuisine with the intention of taking over the restaurant.
    At that time, I was introduced to a friend of my father's who ran a Japanese restaurant in Kyoto, and on his recommendation, I enrolled in Kyoto Culinary Art College.
    Q2 How was school life at Kyoto Culinary Art College?
    A2 The students I studied with were very motivated and the whole school was very lively.
    Also, my homeroom teacher was kind and reliable.
    The class that left a lasting impression on me was the “Hospitality Seminar,” which still exists today.
    I still remember the demonstrations by the owners of Hyotei and Kikunoi.
    Q3 What is your current job description?
    A3 I work as a head chef at a kappo Japanese restaurant.
    I am in charge of operations as well as cooking in front of customers at the counter.
    I also plan the menu every two months and create the menu by myself.
    I am writing the menu in Japanese, using what I learned at Kyoto Culinary Art College, but it is a rare initiative in Taiwan.
    Q4 Finally, do you have a message for those who are interested in studying abroad?
    A4 Along with acquiring culinary skills and knowledge, you will be learning in a foreign country, so be sure to learn about Japanese culture as well.
    Please have a valuable experience in Kyoto that you can only have in Kyoto!

    Q1 Why did you decide to study in Japan?
    A1 I wanted to study coffee and confectionery in Japan.
    First, I studied at a Japanese language school in Nagoya and then looked for a confectionery school.
    I visited schools in Tokyo and Osaka, but I chose Kyoto Pastry & Bakery Art College because I wanted to study in a place where I could live comfortably and learn about Japanese culture, rather than in a big city.
    Q2 How was school life at Kyoto Pastry & Bakery Art College?
    A2 When I first entered the school, I sometimes felt lonely because I could not communicate with my classmates, but I gradually got used to it and had a fulfilling school life.
    Many of the teachers at Kyoto Pastry & Bakery Art College are enthusiastic, especially my homeroom teacher.
    In addition to the classes at school, the off-campus training was also a good experience.
    Along with learning the skills and knowledge well within the school, it helped me acquire the skills to come up with new sweets on my own.
    I also have good memories of visiting special cafes and sweets stores in Kyoto on my days off.
    Q3 What is your current job description?
    A3 I am currently operating a cafe called “TORA tart” in Taichung City, Taiwan.
    I do everything by myself, so I am busy every day, but my days are fulfilling.
    In particular, there are many delicious fruits in Taiwan, so I sell tarts and other sweets made from them, as well as coffee that I am particular about.
    We aim to create a store where both coffee and sweets are delicious!
    Q4 Finally, do you have a message for those who are interested in studying abroad?
    A4 Of course, you have to work hard after you come to Japan.
    Please have a strong desire for your dreams and goals, and enjoy your studies!

    Q1 Why did you decide to study in Japan?
    A1 When I was a university student, I worked part-time at a hotel in Taiwan, where there were many Japanese guests, and that is when I started studying Japanese at a cram school in Taiwan.
    Later, after visiting Japan on a working holiday, I was fascinated by Kyoto in particular and fell in love with the city more and more.
    Then, while attending a Japanese language school for six months, I began to think that I wanted to study more in Japan.
    The reason why I enrolled in KYOKAN was first of all because of my love for Kyoto, but also because I attended the open campus and felt that the school provided a good learning environment, which was a deciding factor.
    Q2 How was school life at Kyoto College of Hotel, Tourism & Bridal Management?
    A2 It was a little difficult to get used to school life, but with the help of my teachers, I was able to study well.
    At Kyoto College of Hotel, Tourism and Bridal, I was able to acquire not only specialized knowledge and skills related to hotels, but also the ability to use a computer, which is very useful for me as a member of society.
    Q3 What is your current job description?
    A3 The hotel where I work now is not large, so all the staff members work together, including the front desk, restaurant operations, housekeeping, and so on.
    Q4 Finally, do you have a message for those who are interested in studying abroad?
    A4 If you like hotel work, we recommend that you take many classes at Kyoto College of Hotel, Tourism & Bridal Management that will be useful after you get a job.
    If you wish to find a job in Japan, manners in Japan are also important, so be sure to take advantage of internship opportunities for the finer points!

    Q1 Please tell us why you decided to study in Kyoto.
    A1 Kyoto is truly the best place for Japanese food and cuisine.
    You could even say that Kyoto is where you'll find traditional Japanese cuisine.
    Kyoto is the number one place to understand the essence of Japanese food cultuer!
    Kyoto is also said to be a city for studying abroad, and it's where students from countries all aroud the world have gathered.
    New things are born in this place of foreign cultural exchange, making it possible to learn about various types of cuisines.
    Additionally, there are many incredible scenes due to the four seasons and abundant nature of the city.
    That's why I chose Kyoto.
    Q2 Please tell us your future goals.
    A2 I've been making an effort to find a job in order to work in Kyoto!
    I plan to use the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries' system to work in a Japanese restaurant in Kyoto.
    I'd like to build experience in a first-rate restaurant in Kyoto that has a history and acquire "true talent".

    Q1 What are the classes and atmosphere of the school like?
    A1 It's my goal to open my own Japanese restaurant, so I enrolled in the Kyoto Culinary Art College with the idea of learning in the best place for Japanese cuisine, "Kyoto", Not only was I able to learn basic cooking techniques from professional teachers, I was able to learn advanced cooking techniques as well as the aesthetics and senses associated with Japanese food.
    As a beginner, I was confronted with all sorts of barriers and difficulties, but thanks to constant encouragement and support from my teachers and friendly colleagues, I've been able to have a fun time every day that I've been here.

    Q1 What concerns did you have before you enrolled?
    A1 I had never cooked before, so I was very worried about whether I can keep up in a practicum. But when I entered the school, I found that there were so many beginners in the class, and the courses started with the basics, so I was able to study with my classmates without any stress.

    A2 For students considering enrollment or wishing to work in Japan after graduation, you will be provided substantive support. It was also my first time to study abroad, so I was worried because there were many things I didn't understand. However, the teacher in charge of international students always answered my questions careflly and thoroughly even before entering the school, which helped relieve my worries. Before enrolling, I had a lot of worries, but now I can confidently say that it is great to study at Kyoto Culinary Art College!

    Q1 What concerns did you have before you enrolled?
    A1 Unlike Japanese language schools, you take classes together with Japanese students, so I was very anxious whether I would be able to work well with Japanese students and keep up.
    When I actually started classes, my classmates were very kind, and the teachers explained everything very thoroughly and clearly.
    Even if I still have some difficulties with the Japanese language, I am able to keep up with the classes!

    A2 When I came to Japan as a tourist, I was amazed at the delicious food and realized I wanted to learn how to cook Japanese cuisine.     Q1 What concerns did you have before you enrolled?
    A1 Since I was born and raised in France, I had no experience in Japanese student life except for a year and a half at a Japanese language school.
    Therefore, when I decided to enroll in Kyoto Pastry & Bakery Art College, I was worried that my Japanese language skills would not be good enough to keep up with the classes and that I would not be able to get used to the customs and rules of Japanese student life.
    However, when school actually started, I found it a little difficult at first, but with the support of the teachers and staff around me, I was able to adjust smoothly to my new student life!

    A1 Since there are not that many international students at the school, I was worried whether I would be able to get along with everyone, but all of my classmates were kind and treated me normally.

    A2 Students' interest and love for Japanese confections are increasing every day.
    We not only teach students in practice, but also teach knowledge such as the basic theory of Japanese confections and food science.
    The school regularly conducts technical tests and competitions, so that the students can practice, create, and happily learn Japanese confections together to improve their skills.

    A1 With so many tourist attractions nearby, I felt drawn to Kyoto and chose the Kyoto Pastry & Bakery Art College because I felt like it would give me the specialized skills and knowledge that I need.
    After my classes, I can hop on my bicycle and visit famous tourist attractions or meet up with students from other schools, so I’m getting a very rich experience here as an international student. I can also gain the knowledge and experience that I will need to fulfill my dream of working at a bakery.

    Q1 Please tell us why you decided to study in Kyoto.
    A1 I was studying at a Japanese language school for one year, and as I was learning I came to discover how interesting Japanese histry and geography could be and I traveled around Japan on a learning tour.
    While doing so, I found myself particularly charmed by Kyoto.
    Kyoto is a city that is representative of tourism in Japan, so in order to deepen my knowledge on the essence of Japanese culture, I thought that I would study abroad in Koyto.
    Q2 Please tell us if there were any classes that you especially enjoyed and why.
    A2 I found all subjects related to travel interesting, including domestic and international tourism geography, package research, and tour planning exercises.
    I was able to gain a lot of knowledge and learn a lot of informaton about travel tourism, I made a variety of travel plans, and created pamphlets, posters, as well as slideshows, and prepared them as provisional products, which gave me a sense of satisfaction and accomplishment.

    I am very happy to study tourism in Kyoto, a tourist destination, and I am also satisfied that the distance between teachers and students is very close, making for active communication and interaction.

    A1 I went to college in China and felt very busy because there were many students in this major.
    In addition to lectures, teachers had to do research, so they did not notice me, there was a distance between us, and my questions were not answered.
    Since entering Kyoto College of Nutritional & Medical Sciences, I am very grateful for the small class sizes, and there are many assistant teachers who will answer my questions when I don't understand.
